Chinese Agriculture Vice-Minister Wei Chao’an visited Lithuania

From Sep.5-9, the delegation of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, headed by the Deputy Minister Mr. Wei Chao’an, visited Lithuania. During the stay in Lithuania, Mr. Wei participated the opening ceremony of “Agrobalt 2006” Exhibition and “the Rural Area Future and Regional Sustainable Development” Forum. At the Forum, Mr. Wei gave a speech on “Chinese Current Rural Situation and Future Development Plan”, which was highly valued by the delegations of Lithuania and other countries.

Besides, Mr. Wei also had a meeting with Mrs. Prunskiene, the Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture. The two sides not only expressed the wishes to further develop mutual agricultural communication and cooperation, but also had a discussion on the cooperation in such fields as staff training and information exchange, exchange of seeds resources, stockbreeding industry, agricultural machinery, agricultural science and technology, as well as the quality of agricultural products.
