brief introduction of bilateral cooperation
In recent years, bilateral trade between China and Lithuania has been increasing constantly and stably. As a result, Lithuania has become the biggest trade partner of China among three Baltic countries. According to the data of Chinese Customs, from January to October in 2004, trade volume between China and Lithuania amounted to 233 mln 970 thous. USD, increasing by 58% comparing with corresponding period of 2003, among which Chinese export to Lithuania was 223mln 500thous. USD, with an increasing rate of 68.9% and import from Lithuania reached 10mln 820thous., down by 32.3 %.
The main Chinese products exported to Lithuania in turn are : mechanical & electronic products, textile products , footwear; the main products imported from Lithuania in turn are: mechanical & electrical products, base metals & articles od base metal,textile products and chemical products.
Currently, mutual investment between China and Lithuania are in small scale.
